Simon is an SLE and Year 4 teacher at Tottington Primary School. He has also taught in Reception, Year 3 and 6 in his teaching career so far. Simon loves using technology and Skype to bring the world to his students through which he has spoken to famous authors, experts and film stars. He wants to share how you too can connect with the rest of the world and discuss the positive impact that social media can have in education. Simon will also share how a simple poem and Skype session, took a group of children all the way to EU parliament (invited and paid for by an MEP), a film premiere and subsequently named on an EU law. Through his work on poetry, he recently spoke at the Superpod6 event in Seattle USA, alongside the cast of the Netflix documentary Blackfish, where he used Skype to connect the audience with his class back in Tottington!
